Eyelid aesthetic

Change Your Image, Change Your Life

What is blepharoplasty (eyelid aesthetics)?

Eyelid aesthetics is a surgery performed for eyelids that droop or appear swollen and give the appearance of aging. Excess skin and excess fat pads, if any, are removed, placed back on the missing parts, and the surgery scar is well hidden, resulting in a younger appearance.

Do I need eyelid plastic surgery?

Blepharoplasty helps eliminate many signs of aging. Generally, patients with these symptoms prefer this surgery:

  • Drooping upper eyelids

  • Loose lower eyelids

  • Wrinkles around the eyes

  • Swellings under the eyes

  • Chronically tired looks

Blepharoplasty techniques

Upper eyelid aesthetics: The surgery scar is hidden between the natural folds of the upper eyelid. Excess skin and fat pads are removed. If necessary, the muscles of the upper eyelid are tightened for a more lively look.

  • There is no visible surgery scar left.

  • The droopy eyelid is repaired.

  • A better angle of vision is provided for patients whose visual field is limited due to droopy eyelids.

  • Wrinkles around the eyes are reduced.

Lower Eyelid Aesthetics: The surgical scar is hidden from the lower eyelash border and the eyelashes are protected. Excess skin is removed. The excess fat pad that causes swelling is removed or replaced by advancing the missing parts and the lower eyelid muscles are tightened.

  • There is no visible surgery scar left.

  • The puffy appearance under the eyes disappears.

  • Chronic tired expression improves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of anesthesia is used in eyelid aesthetic surgery?

  • Upper eyelid surgery is easily performed under local anesthesia. In lower eyelid surgery, general anesthesia may be needed depending on the patient's condition.

How long does recovery take after eyelid aesthetic surgery?

  • Swelling and sometimes bruising can often be seen after the surgery. To reduce these, it is recommended to apply ice for the first days and sleep with your head elevated for about 1 week. Generally, patients can start work 1 week after upper eyelid surgery, 2 weeks after lower eyelid surgery, and return to their sports routine after 3 weeks. The majority of edema disappears completely in approximately 6 weeks.

How will I feel after my surgery?

  • It is normal to feel slight tension around the eyes after surgery. It is enough to not disrupt daily comfort and this period can be easily overcome with simple painkillers.

How long will the effect of my surgery last?

  • Blepharoplasty surgery is an age-reversing surgery and will always make you look younger than if you had not had the surgery. However, like the rest of the face, the eyelids continue to age, but always look younger than before.

How can I prolong the effect of my surgery?

  • Many patients maintain their appearance with filler or laser skin rejuvenation procedures. However, a healthy lifestyle will always help you maintain your results.
